Members meet online every month, shape CLERO's strategic direction, get access to the policy and procedure library, and add their organisation to the national LERO map. Applications are reviewed by the board.

Apply to join
Takes about five minutes. You'll get an email to confirm your address straight away, and the board reviews new applications at its monthly meeting. Individual applicants must be 16 or over.
What happens to your details. They're used to run your membership and, if you tick the box, to send the newsletter. We never sell data. You can change or delete what we hold at any time from your account or by emailing membership@clero.co.uk. Privacy policy
Membership terms
These set out your rights and obligations as a member of the College of Lived Experience Recovery Organisations ("CLERO", "we").
Your details
- You are responsible for informing us of changes to your personal details. If you are provided with individual passwords for access to our online services, these must not be shared with anyone else.
- All members agree that email addresses and other personal details provided to CLERO may be used for administrative purposes and to fulfil your CLERO membership; this may include an e-newsletter.
- CLERO may send you invitations to take part in events, surveys or focus groups to ask for your help to shape CLERO work.
- CLERO may contact you with information about our activities via email, text message or phone where we feel these would be of interest to you and you have consented to hear from us in this way.
- You can opt out of these communications at any time by emailing membership@clero.co.uk, although they form part of your membership benefits.
- CLERO uses the personal information you provide to deliver membership services. We take your privacy seriously and promise never to sell your data. Our privacy policy explains your rights and how we keep your details safe.
- Membership may be terminated at the discretion of CLERO if a member is in breach of these terms, or such removal is sanctioned by a resolution of CLERO's founding members, provided the member has had a reasonable opportunity to explain why they should not be removed.
Publications and materials
- Unless stated otherwise, all publications and materials supplied to members are the copyright work of CLERO. Members may not reproduce, transmit, distribute, sell or commercially exploit these materials without CLERO's prior written consent or to the extent expressly permitted by law.
- All information provided by CLERO to members is on an "as is" basis. Whilst CLERO makes all reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy and relevance of such information, we cannot guarantee its completeness, quality or non-infringement of third-party rights.
Applications
- CLERO may at its absolute discretion refuse an application from an individual, group or organisation without giving a reason. An applicant whose application is refused has the right to appeal to CLERO's founding members, who will reconsider the application in light of any further information provided before reaching a final decision.
- To become a member as an individual you must be at least 16 years old at the time of application.
Liability and general
- In no event shall CLERO be liable to members or any third party for any lost profit or any special, incidental or consequential damages (however arising, including negligence) arising out of or in connection with services, benefits or products supplied by CLERO.
- Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by CLERO's negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- The rights of a member are personal and cannot be transferred or assigned.
- Membership rights cease when an individual, group or organisation ceases to be a member.
- These terms are governed by English law and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
